The conical mixer is a static type mixer with vertical loading. The main agitation element is a worm screw carrying out a planetary movement inside the cone.
The mixing mechanisms are by convection due to the planetary movement, and by diffusion by means of the screw. Solids can also be added in high proportions. Optionally a cowles disc can be installed in the centre of the cone in order to break up possible agglomerates present in the mixture, either due to the physical characteristics of the raw material, or due to the addition of liquids onto solids.
